Hold onto your broomsticks! The 5th Annual Greenport Halloween Village is set to offer tricks and treats galore.
In collaboration with the Village of Greenport, the event, which takes place on Saturday, October 26 will turn Greenport into “a haunted, and extremely fun Halloween Village,” organizers said.
The day kicks off with the Village of Greenport’s 12th Annual Halloween Parade at 11 a.m. The parade line up takes place at 10:30 a.m. at the Floyd Memorial Library, located at 539 1st Street.
Participants can march along with all the goblins, ghouls, witches, princesses and cowboys, as well as the North Fork Dance Company, as they follow the Greenport Fire Department’s antique fire engine #33 down Main Street to Mitchell Park.
From noon to 3 p.m., Greenport Village businesses will host trick-or-treating for kids. The frighteningly fun scavenger hunt returns with the theme, “Skeletons in Our Closets”. Both children and adults will make their way around the village and find the numbered skeletons in
establishment windows, displays, and more. Forms can be found around the village as well as here.
